More Days in Kuala Lumpur!

So, Ami and I have been wondering aimlessly through the diverse streets of Kuala Lumpur. We have made some interesting discoveries along the way.

-The food is AMAZING and CHEAP
-Alcohol is just as pricey as in Canada
-And technology is friggin' EXPENSIVE!

We have met some awesome individuals and have traveled through the city with them. No matter where we seem to go, we always end up back near the Petronas Towers. I guess they're just so damn sexy, it's our natural instinct to want to be near them. So, without further ado, I give you some hardcore Petronas Tower porn!

And now, the towers.....after dark, oh yeah!

I never thought I'd be so impressed with a pair of office buildings. No matter how crappy your camera is, it's hard to take a bad picture!

There's my beautiful Ami smiling beautifully.
And there's me.....puckerin' up.
We then continued to travel to seek out more spiritual locations in the city.

And we stumbled onto the gorgeous main Hindu temple on the outskirts of Chinatown near the Kuala Lumpur Central Station.

The entrance was a mountain of Hindu sculptures!

Here are some close ups of this AWESOME temple entrance. I couldn't get enough of feasting my eyes on this devotional art.

We then walked inside and found a bunch of people preparing for the annual Thaipusam festival. Wiki Thaipusam if you don't know what I'm talking about. Here are some generic shots of the interior.

Well, that's all for now folks. I'm posting this blog after Thaipusam has taken place, so I already have loads of exciting photos and videos of this years Thiapusam festival that, frankly, blow this blog entry out of the water. Stay tuned for Andre and Ami's Nomadic Life's Thaipusam Double Feature. We followed that festival like fleas on a dog! Catch y'all later 'gators.

Second Day in Malaysia!

Here's a video I made of our very brief travels through Kuala Lumpur. The city is a juxtaposition of a developing world and a developed one. Sorry for the shaky camera and poor quality, totally new at the Youtube thing.
Note: music is provided by Yours Truly.

First Day in Malaysia!

Day 2 of our nomadic life has arrived and is already fleeting. My wife and I have purged our possessions (and jobs) in Toronto, Canada to embark on a world adventure starting in Malaysia.

Hello, we are Andre and Ami and this is our travel blog! The first photo documents the BIGGEST trip we have taken so far....our wedding.

January 16, 2010
We departed three days ago from Toronto. We had a 24 hour stop over in Instanbul, Turkey. There we stayed at the Mavi Guesthouse, which was run by the loveliest staff. The city is beautiful and bustling and a very interesting mix of East meeting West.

We then flew into Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and arrived this morning. Here's a photo from our hostel lounge window.

Here's another photo documenting my wife and I navigating our way through the downtown core. Kuala Lumpur is a bustling diverse mixture of many Asian ethnicities and cultures. Definitely NOT a homogeneous city.

Well, that's all for now. The both of us are 13 hours ahead of Canadian Eastern Standard time so we're tired and feeling messed up. Stay tuned for more photos, youtube videos and I'll be sure to make this a more interesting read next time, just getting my feet wet with this blogger thing. Till next time!
