Wonderful Travels on the Coast of Sabah

Hello all. Well, it has been a while since my last entry and a lot has happened since then. Ami and traveled to a beach side coconut plantation to help out an expat couple and ended up having to escape and hitch hike back to the city. We then spent Chinese New Year with our friends family in a town that felt infested with ghosts. I came down with a mysterious intense fever and went to see a local witch doctor to get it lifted. We then traveled to the tip of Borneo to stayed with a lovely ex-pat from Stratford, England whose building a hotel and helping out the community in his spare time. We then returned to the city for an intensive three day diving course and now Ami and I are certified open water divers. So, allow me to explain further with some visual aid if I may.

This is a normal night for us in KK hanging out at Wong's Coffee Shop for a CS gathering
This is about 30 seconds later that very same night.
Here's our good friend Mei (far left) and her sisters eating at Chinese New Year
Here's Mei's sisters and nieces also eating during Chinese New Year
Here's a small fraction of the food we had for Chinese New Year. SO MUCH FOOD!
Ami's taking a family picture.
This is how one of the photos turned out.
Here's our friend Mei again on the nearby beach.
Just chillin' in a bamboo hut out of the rain.
Awww, cute kittens!
Awwww, REALLY cute kitten!
This is what poisonous centipedes in Borneo look like. It's roughly the length of my forearm.
Here's a beach our couchsurfer friend dropped us of at for the day.
That's Ami in the distance. We were the only ones there. Yep, we know your jealous.
We stayed on the beach till sunset.
Just a view from our friends Land Rover as he ran around town trying to build his restaurant.
And here's the "Tip of Borneo"
There's me at the tip.
Just some stock photography.
"Excuse me while I kiss the sky"
Then we headed back to KK where Chinese New Year was still going strong.
Here's Ami on our first day of open water diving class.
And there's me about 30 seconds later.
Some people learn to dive in swimming pools....we didn't.
Ok. So those are the photos. I know the documentation is inconsistent and many people, places and moment are missing from this entry. To be honest, our adventures have been so sporadic and unpredictable and pulling out my camera hasn't always been my first instinct. I will do better next time.

Without further ado, here's a quick video I made scored with a song I wrote on the beach you just so pictured above. Upon completion of the video, I realized the music doesn't fit at all (you'll see what I mean) but I actually don't have time to change it. Things are moving quick for us. Tomorrow we are heading back to the tip of Borneo to help out at a youth home giving computer classes to underprivileged teens and more adventures of the unknown. Till next time. ENJOY!
